First investment portfolio breakdown
The following info is strictly anecdotal and shouldn't be used as financial advice. I didn't really need to tell you that, but I did anyway just in case.
For the first time, I've invested in the stock market, this blog post will break down my portfolio in a nice table. Because it's my first ever time investing, the portfolio is really, really boring.
My strategy was to dump most of the money I wanted to invest into an index fund, and to leave a little bit for me to have some fun with elsewhere.
Vanguard S&P 500 (Acc)
A pretty safe choice, which is what I aimed for considering this is the first time I've ever invested in the stock market. I researched a few months back what would be the smartest choice to make, and it looked like this was one of them. I went with the accumulating one over distributing as I was told accumulating is better for long term growth.
Cloudflare
The only reason I wanted to invest in some individual stocks was mainly for fun, and not in hopes of making a meaningful gain from it. Because of this, my choices weren't based on much, I picked Cloudflare cause I like their services a lot. That's pretty much it.
American Electric Power Company
This was my non-tech choice, this probably isn't very wise but I did some mild research and this came up as a decently stable energy stock to pick, so I chose it.
SK Hynix
Because of the RAM crisis , as one of the few companies who can actually sell other companies D-ram, SK hynix's stock is doing quite well. I doubt this will continue for it to be worth investing more into, which I why I invested slightly less here than I did in the other stocks.
Note: the money mentioned here is the amount I allocated to invest, not every bit of money I have. Just clarifying in case you thought I was investing 100% of my net worth into the stock market.
And there we have it ladies and gentlemen, that concludes the breakdown! Thanks for reading, if you've got a question email it to me at hello@miguelrpg.com
